Regatta Duisburg who we are
Regatta Duisburg e.V. was established in 2025 through the merger of the two clubs International Wedau Regatta e.V. and Kanu Regatta-Verein Duisburg e.V.International Wedau Regatta e.V. was founded in 2007 by the Duisburg Rowing Club and the Germania Düsseldorf Rowing Club to organize national and international rowing regattas on the Duisburg regatta course—events that had previously been handled separately by the two clubs. Among its major highlights are the 1983 Rowing World Championships, the 2001 Junior World Championships, and the 2012 World Masters Regatta.
Kanu Regatta-Verein Duisburg represented the canoeing counterpart. The KRV specialized in hosting international canoe sprint competitions and has already organized the Canoe Sprint World Championships five times, in addition to serving as a regular host of the Canoe World Cup.
In 2025, Regatta Duisburg was created through the merger of these two clubs with the goal of positioning itself even more strongly for the future and establishing a unified, powerful brand for water sports on the Duisburg regatta course.
