Regattacourse Duisburg
A Sports Venue of World Renown
AWhat was once a former gravel lake has become one of the most prestigious water sports facilities in the world: the regatta course in the Duisburg Sportpark. Since its inauguration in 1935 during a rowing regatta, the course has been continuously modernized and expanded.
Perfect Conditions for Elite Sport
A wind protection dam, added in the 1970s, ensures consistent conditions across all lanes — even in wind and rain, the water surface remains almost perfectly calm. This unique quality makes the Duisburg regatta course a preferred training and competition venue for national and international teams.
Modern High‑Performance Center
The renovation of the regatta house into the Federal and State Performance Center for Canoe Sprint (BLZ) created a training base for the German national team and international delegations.
Ten boat halls, covered storage areas, and a parallel channel ensure optimal operations, even during major events.
Stadium‑Like Grandstand
The facility accommodates up to 5,000 spectators, including 2,000 covered seats. The finish area is located directly in front of the grandstand—there is no closer view of the action. Media and catering facilities, excellent public transport access, and around 5,000 parking spaces complete the setup.
